• Na Alaka'i Ho'ona'auao Reading Leadership Awards: The Foundation awards $210,000 to 21 Hawaii public elementary schools based on their demonstrated leadership in raising student achievement  (August 2007)
• Fish Given a Chance to Grow: In a victory for fishermen and the environment, Gov. Lingle signed a new rule that restricts the use of lay gill nets in Hawaii.  (July 2007)
• Just for the Kids Grants: During a recent convening, school principals demonstrated that transformational leadership requires vision, support, capacity building and collaboration.  (June 2007)
